Come experience the fun and excitement of Metal Madness this September in a one-of-a-kind fundraiser for the whole family. MidwayUSA Foundation has partnered with the Grand Rivers Shooting Range and Metal Madness Shooting Sports Association to bring an action shooting contest to all ages and skill levels. Please join us on September 14th, 2024, for a day of shooting and camaraderie while raising awareness and support for youth shooting sports. Like all MidwayUSA Foundation events, each entry donation benefits the youth shooting endowment of your choice; plus, it’s matched through our Matching Program.
What is Metal Madness?
Metal Madness is a speed and accuracy-based shooting sport in which athletes shoot rimfire rifles or pistols at steel plates. Each competitor will shoot through 10 stages, moving to a new shooting lane each time. Each lane has randomized numbered metal plates, which must be shot in numerical order. With more than 60,000 different plate presentation options, it’s impossible to master the game completely!
Scoring is time-based, plus penalties for missed plates or shooting plates out of sequence. With misses costing 2 seconds each, hitting plates in the proper order is extremely important. The eight fastest times from ten lanes fired are added together for each shooter’s bracket time.

MidwayUSA Foundation Fundraiser
Every $25 donation to the endowment of your choice will receive 1 entry for a round of Metal Madness. For each round competitors will fire through 10 different shooting lanes, with each lane presenting different steel targets to hit. The .22 rimfire ammunition required to participate in this event will be provided.
There is no limit on the number of entries 1 competitor may have. Competitors may participate in multiple rounds, with either the same firearm or changing to a different one. A $25 donation is required for each entry.
No special firearm or equipment is needed to participate. All .22 caliber firearms are welcome to shoot Metal Madness.
Grand Rivers Shooting Range
Grand Rivers Shooting Range, located near Paducah, Kentucky is the home and founding outdoor range for Metal Madness. The MidwayUSA Foundation fundraising event will be hosted under covered and paved shooting lanes.
