Giving Tuesday Success

This year was the MidwayUSA Foundation’s fifth year offering an incentive during Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving that occurs each year following the shopping holidays Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Social media drives the event, and with this ability to easily share content, youth shooting teams can ask their community for support and significantly impact their endowment in just one day! Over 500 youth shooting programs participated in Giving Tuesday this year. Our goal was to raise $200,000 for youth shooting sports, and we are proud to announce that we raised $221,313! To get to that number, we processed 878 transactions on November 30th, with the average donation amount being about $250. Additionally, we offered $200,000 in matching funds and $20,000 in team incentive dollars for the event. This means the shooting community added a grand total of $441,313 to youth shooting sports endowments! These funds will increase each shooting program’s annual cash grant, which sets their future shooting seasons up for success. A special thank you to all the donors, for their generosity during this annual event; together, we are truly changing the future of youth shooting sports!

Incentive Matching and Winning Teams

Every youth shooting team and organization that received a donation on Giving Tuesday will receive a portion of that $200,000 of matching. The matching ratio came out to $0.90 per dollar. If your youth shooting program received a $100 donation, we added an additional $90 for a total endowment contribution of $190! Our Matching Program is something we take pride in here at the Foundation. It’s our way of rewarding those teams and organizations that are involved and determined to help themselves. Speaking of rewarding hard-working teams, we added bonus endowment awards for teams participating in Giving Tuesday! We awarded the top 5 teams that generated the most donation dollars and drew 10 teams at random to win $500 each. See the top teams below and the random draw winners in the graphic on the right.
