September is Hometown Challenge month at MidwayUSA Foundation, a nationwide opportunity for supporters to rally behind their local youth shooting team and help build a stronger financial future for the programs they care about.

Hometown Challenge is designed to make fundraising simple: support a youth shooting team, grow its endowment, and help fund athletes for years to come.

Every Donation Can Make a Difference

Youth shooting teams rely on fundraising and community support to help cover the costs of running a successful program. From equipment and training to travel, competition expenses, and other program needs, having reliable financial resources can make a tremendous difference.

Donations made directly to eligible Team Endowment Accounts help build a permanent funding source for the team. As an endowment grows, so does the potential for future annual grants.

During Hometown Challenge, teams across the country have an opportunity to rally their communities and increase their endowment support.

Sweepstakes and Team Competition

Throughout September, every $20 donation is an entry into our multi-prize sweepstakesDonate as much as you like to increase your chances of winning! For example, a $100 donation to your favorite team gives you 5 sweepstakes entries. Prizes include coolers, gift cards, ammo, firearms, glasses, and more!

For the 2026 Hometown Challenge, a Team Endowment Account that receives at least one match-eligible donation during September qualifies for the Hometown Challenge team incentive. The top five participating teams receiving the most donation dollars will earn additional endowment awards:

  • 1st Place: $15,000
  • 2nd Place: $12,500
  • 3rd Place: $10,000
  • 4th Place: $7,500
  • 5th Place: $5,000

Thirty additional qualifying teams will also be selected to receive $1,000 in endowment funds.

It Starts in Your Hometown

The name says it all: Hometown Challenge is about communities supporting their own.

Parents, grandparents, alumni, friends, local businesses, supporters, and community members can all help a youth shooting team build its endowment.

Whether a team is competing for the top incentive award or simply working to grow its endowment, every eligible donation helps move the program forward.

And because the goal is long-term sustainability, the impact doesn’t end when September does.
