
Larry W. Potterfield, President – Larry is the President/CEO of the shooting sports catalog retailer MidwayUSA. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from The University of Missouri and a M.B.A. in Management from the University of Arkansas. Larry and his wife Brenda have given generously to the shooting sports industry, starting with the creation of the NRA “Round-Up” and Friends of NRA programs in 1992. They have also created and provided initial funding for the Keystone and First Shots endowment within the NRA Foundation and have made significant contributions to the Gunsmithing and Reloading endowments. Larry’s hobbies are hunting and fishing, shooting, handloading, gunsmithing and gun collecting. He is a Benefactor member of the NRA and a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Glenn D. Chambers, Vice President – Glenn is a long-time resident of Columbia, Missouri and is renowned for his wildlife photography and watercolor painting. He has his B.S. in Biology and Chemistry from Central Missouri State University, a M.S. in Wildlife Management from The University of Missouri and an Honorary Doctor of Science from Central Missouri State University. He began his career in 1961 with the Missouri Department of Conservation and later worked for Ducks Unlimited as a Regional Director and Corporate Photographer before returning to the Department of Conservation from where he retired in 1995. He also has worked as a Producer/Cinematographer for National Geographic Television. Glenn’s career includes many film and TV credits and he has had his photography exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution. Additionally, he raised and photographed river otters in his home and through his company, Paddlefoot Productions, wrote "You Otter Have a Coloring Book," and produced the "River Otters, 2000" calendar and "Otter Chaos," a film for National Geographic Television. Glenn has won many awards including four Emmys, Wildlife Society’s Conservationist of the Year and Conservation Education Award, the Missouri 1984 Duck Stamp competition, the Conservation Federation of Missouri’s Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Silver Beaver Award, the highest honor from a Boy Scout Council. Furthermore, Glenn medaled several times in skeet and sporting clays at the Missouri State Games and Missouri Senior Games.
Brenda D. Potterfield, Secretary – Brenda is co-owner of MidwayUSA and its vice-president of industry and community relations where she handles public relations, events and acts as the company’s liaison with the outdoor media. She has a B.S. in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Southeast Missouri State University and taught in the public school system prior to the founding of MidwayUSA. Brenda has served as the Vice President of the NRA Foundation and sits on the Boy Scouts of America Great Rivers Council board of directors. In addition to her professional career, she is an active hunter, shotgun and rifle shooter as well as an avid supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, Ducks Unlimited, Quail Unlimited, Whitetails Unlimited, National Wild Turkey Federation, and a Benefactor member of the NRA. She is a Life Member of Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Safari Club International, politically active with State and National elections and has testified before the Missouri Legislature on various gun issues.
Jerry Danuser, Treasurer – Jerry owns the Danuser Machine Company in Fulton, Missouri; a three generation family-owned manufacturer that supplies parts, implements, and attachments to the agricultural, industrial, turf, and other industries. He attended both Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California and Hannibal-LaGrange in Hannibal, Missouri before joining the Air Force in 1964. He spent four years in the Air Force and returned to his family’s Fulton, Missouri business in 1968. Jerry has been a lifelong resident of Callaway County, Missouri and served as President of the Board for the Green Valley Rifle and Pistol Club in Columbia, Missouri for nearly 10 years. Additionally, Jerry has served in prominent roles for numerous shooting and trade organizations, has hunted internationally and has competed at the Grand American Trap Shoot for over twenty years.
Mary Ann Gates – Mary Ann is co-owner of Cedar Creek Rod & Gun Club in Boone County, Missouri, and is retired from the Columbia Public School system where she taught English at Hickman High School for 27 years. She earned a B.A. and M.A. from The University of Missouri. The Columbia Public School Foundation honored her in 2006 as an Outstanding Retired Educator and she has been twice honored as a Presidential Scholar Teacher of Influence. She has served as the Secretary of the Boone County Sheriff’s Scholarship Board of Directors and on the Board of Directors of the Boone County Farm Bureau. Additionally, Mary Ann won the ladies division of the World Side-by-Side Shotgun Championship in 1998.
Ron W. Utterback – Ron is Vice President of Crop Protection/Seed/Farm Supplies for MFA, Inc. in Columbia, Missouri. Ron grew up in Hannibal, Missouri and went on to earn a B.S. in Animal Science from The University of Missouri in 1969. Ron began his career at MFA in 1969 and has been there since. He has served on numerous industry boards including: Chairman of Missouri Ag Industries Council’s Board in 2000, the Chairman of the MidAmerican Crop Protection Association Board (2002 - 2003) and the 2008 Chairman of the Board for Universal Cooperatives. Ron was the Chairman of the Columbia Area Friends of NRA committee for two years and served on the committee for over ten years. He became a Life Member of the NRA in 1977 and is an active trap, skeet and sporting clays shooter and enjoys prairie dog shooting as well.
Tom Schauwecker – Tom was born in Jefferson City, Missouri and moved to Columbia, Missouri in 1966. He earned a B.S. in Business Administration from The University of Missouri. Tom serves as the Assessor for Boone County, a post he was first elected to in 1988. Tom has served as the President of the Missouri Assessor's Association (1994 -1995) and on the Executive Committee (1992 - 1996). Additionally, Tom has been on the Board of Directors for the Daniel Boone Little League, the Boone County Agriculture and Mechanical Society and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Counsel. He is an avid turkey and waterfowl hunter and a wing shooter.
Russell A. Potterfield – Russ is a life-long resident of Columbia, Missouri. He earned a B.A. in English Language and Literature and M.B.A. from the University of Michigan. Russ is the President of Battenfeld Technologies, Inc., a shooting sports product-development company that encompasses several brand names including Caldwell, Frankford Arsenal, Wheeler Engineering, Miles Gilbert, Tipton, Fajen, PAST, and Adams & Bennett.
Sara Potterfield-Zara –Sara grew up in Columbia, Missouri and earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Colorado State University and an M.B.A. from The University of Missouri. She is Vice President of MidwayUSA’s GunTec Division, which produces MidwayUSA’s commercials, instructional videos and online information such as the highly educational GunTec Dictionary. She is also the President of Midway Farms, Inc., a company providing meeting, shooting, lodging and hunting services. Sara competed on the Trap and Skeet Team at Colorado State University and has shot numerous times at the World Skeet Shoot in San Antonio, Texas.
